UNCONIRMED: Passenger reports an overbooked PAL Express flight to Tacloban

Aviation Updates Philippines - UNCONFIRMED: A Bayan Patroller reported an overbooked PAL Express flight to Tacloban. It isn't really an overbooked flight because a Philippine Airlines Airbus A320 operated the flight, instead of the all-economy-class Airbus A320 of PAL Express.

The Bayan Patroller said that he/she saw 15 passengers standing for the whole flight. An unconfirmed reports says that the 15 passengers were ordered to get off the plane before the flight departed Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The PAL Express flight was said to operate an Airbus A320 of Philippine Airlines which isn't configured as all economy seats.

Philippine Airlines' Airbus A320s are equipped with only 24 rows, and PAL Express' A320s are equipped with 31 rows.

Philippine Airlines officials said that they haven't received the report yet. And as soon as the report arrives, they will investigate the matter immediately.

Note: More to follow! We still don't have enough information as authorities did not publish official reports. This is an unconfirmed report, report may change without prior notice.

  1. How can a plane fly with 15 pax standing all throughout the flight? Verify your facts first before publishing this report. CAAP. ICAO. even PR or 2P will never allow this. This is very inaccurate report.

    1. PAL Express Airbus A320 operated the flight which is configured as all economy seats. But, because of aircraft changes, Philippine Airlines operated an business class Airbus A320.

PAL Express Airbus A320s have a total of 177 seats while Philippine Airlines had a total of 156 seats.
