The donated goods were flown on-board a Boeing 737-800 aircraft (with registry 9M-MLT) from Kuala Lumpur to Manila via flight MH-806. The flight arrived in the Philippines 10 minutes past noon on Thursday.

The Malaysian flag carrier ought to partner with the Manila Airport Operations Council (AOC) to distribute the donated resources to several evacuation areas with severely affected communities in Luzon.

"We sincerely hope that our contributions will help ease the burden of the affected communities. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and the families of those affected," Malaysia Airlines said in a Facebook post.

Additionally, the airline announced that its employees will be able to donate cash and other essential items. Malaysia Airlines also pledged to donate MYR 1.00 per passenger from ticket sales accumulated for January.

Taal volcano's alert status is still at level 4 following reports from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) that a hazardous eruption is imminent within the next few hours or days.
