At the opening day of the Kuwait Aviation Show, Qatar Airways announced that it will fly to eight new destinations across the globe: Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan; Almaty, Kazakhstan; Cebu, Philippines; Accra, Ghana; Trabzon, Turkey; Lyon, France; Luanda, Angola; and Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “The Kuwait Aviation Show is the perfect platform for us to kick start the New Year and unveil some of our exciting plans for 2020.

“Eight new destinations will be joining our network this year in addition to the recently announced gateways of Santorini, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Osaka, Japan. With these new routes, our operations will expand to 177 destinations around the world, reinforcing our position as one of the world’s most connected airlines. This ensures we can continue to provide our passengers more options and flexibility when planning their business and leisure travel.”

Flights to Cebu will be flown on-board Qatar's Boeing 787-8 aircraft which offers 22 seats in business class and 232 seats in economy. The state airline operates a total of 37 of the said aircraft type.

QR-924 departs Doha at 2:00 am (AST) for a 9 hour and 35-minute flight to Cebu. Arrival is scheduled at 4:35 pm (PST). The return flight, QR-925, departs from Cebu at 6:30 pm (PST) and arrives in Doha at 11:55 pm (AST).

Last year, Qatar Airways launched flights to Davao, Philippines on-board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. It was part of Qatar's annual massive international expansion where it launched eight new routes in 2019.
