In a statement, the GCO said that the following countries are affected by the suspension of flights: Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Thailand.

The state clarified that this decision "...affects all individuals intending to enter from these countries, including visas upon arrival, those with a residence or work permit, and temporary visitors."

The Qatari government continues to proactively take preventive measures to further control the spread of the disease in the state. As of March 9, 2020, Qatar currently has 15 active cases, two of which were just added recently.

Qatar urges its citizens and residents to avoid unnecessary travel if possible.

By this time, the COVID-19 has already infected 109,969 individuals globally and has claimed the lives of 3,827 individuals. Fortunately, of the more than 100,000 cases, around 62,240 previously infected persons have now made full recoveries.
