Aviation Updates Philippines – As the national flag carrier slowly reverts to its "new normal" operations, Philippine Airlines has scheduled to restart limited routes from the Cebu hub around mid-June following the easing of quarantine restrictions in general community quarantine areas.

As of PAL's update on Tuesday, the airline plans to open inter-island flights to Visayas and Mindanao: Davao (June 9), Zamboanga (June 17), Bacolod (June 16), Cagayan de Oro (June 15), Dipolog (June 22), Iloilo (June 15), Legazpi (June 15), and Tacloban (June 15).

Aside from flights to and from Cebu, PAL will also relaunch flights between Clark and Davao (June 12), and between Zamboanga and Tawi-Tawi (June 17). These flights, however, are highly subject to change as the local situation progresses.

"We plan to increase the number of routes and flights in the coming weeks and months, if allowed by aviation authorities, global public health conditions and the travel environment," PAL said in an advisory.

Passengers are assured of safety as PAL continues to implement stringent health measures aboard its flights. Guests and staff are now required to wear face masks and to observe physical distancing at the airport. Meanwhile, flight crew are mandated to undergo rapid antibody tests and to wear personal protective equipment (PPEs).

On the other hand, the flag carrier reminds its passengers to bring necessary travel documents when flying. However, the airline said requirements might vary from province to province. For more information, passengers may refer to its advisory.
